Photographed by Karella Mara Raffinan for Cocoon, Tokyo 2024.

Sherry Zheng is a Chinese-Australian photographer based in Sydney. Through her images, she explores themes of identity, family, and home in a diasporic context.

Sherry moved from working in translation/publishing in Tokyo, to photography when returning to Sydney in 2020 and pursuing her passion for documentary storytelling.

Like words, images act as a language that she uses to traverse linguistic barriers, generational gaps, and other differences to tell a story.
